We went to the beach this weekend and I can honestly say I’ve been burnt in places I’ve never been burned before. Seriously, the back of my knees? The bottom curve of my belly button? That’s like some anime cell shading right there!
That said, we had an awesome time at the beach. And we made a few friends while flying our dollar store Spiderman kite!
This is my ukulele cover of “Winter” Trees by The Staves. At first I was finger picking the tune just to see if I could figure it out and was surprised that it sounded okay. I’m still kind of worried that it sounds a little two chunky when things mix up but it’s definitely a lot smoother than before and I’m pretty happy with it.
I love The Staves so much, everything they sing sounds so natural and grounded. I’d love to go on a long road trip with their CD playing most of the way.
I got most of this done during the first bout of Iron Zombies on Saturday but I wanted to polish it up a bit and make it look a little more fancy. I mixed in a bit of the palette challenge for it and all in all, it was a lot of fun! Definitely good practice. Big thank you to Zalia for organizing it all and reminding me about it. ;v;
Guess who just finished S1 M9 of Zombie’s, Run. Not gonna put any spoilers here but that just doubled my love for Sam about five times over. When I get some time, most likely tomorrow what with Canada Day celebrations going on tonight I’m going to try and finish this up with a scheme from one of those palette challenges.
I made this doodle for the lovely Starlock a few weeks ago when I was back in Toronto for TCAF; it’s her and Painbows’ bike boyfriends and my derp giving them a hand because I thought it would be cute.
It’s been a while since I worked with art pens; In general I want to do more with pen/brush with ink. Soon I will have time for it. x__x
Maki the Cannondale with the banged up knee is Painbows’ character
Hana the Falcon Explorer getting hair ruffles is Starlock’s boy
…I’m having fun with these and I keep getting ideas for them. Carrying on the whole ‘take modes of transportation’ or exercise in my case and turn ‘em human I made my friend Belle’s car into a character. He’s got a tattoo you can see a bit of on his neck, it’s supposed to look like tire tread and it’ll go stylistically down his chest and back. I’ll see if I can draw ‘em when I’ve got a break from work.
My boss at work commissioned me to do one of these of him so I did. He was either going to be a caracal or a Ukranian levkoy. I might try and do more of these in the future when I’ve got some free time, they’re pretty damn fun.
Also yes, my boss has a muppet of himself. He keeps it at his desk.
I’m going to clean this up later but I’m just trying to work out values for when I finish it. Still not completely happy with this but I’m going to try again later to get it closer to what I want. Other than that, she was a lot of fun to design! I hope to do a lot more of these when I have the time.
I really need to work on engaging backgrounds. If anyone has some constructive crit for this I’d be grateful!
